When Life Gets Hard: Why Having Allah by Your Side Makes All the Difference

Life can be incredibly tough. We all face challenges—whether it’s academic pressure, career stress, or personal struggles. It’s like we’re juggling a million things, trying to keep up, and often, we don’t have the time to really pause and think about our purpose and our Creator.

Here’s the thing: you have a choice when facing these tough times. You can either go through them with Allah by your side, or you can try to handle everything on your own. Let’s be real—facing challenges alone can feel isolating and overwhelming. You might feel like there’s no one to turn to, no one to help you through, and no guidance when you’re lost.

But imagine having Allah with you through all of it. Allah’s love for us is immense. He says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 286: “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.” This means that even in the hardest times, Allah knows exactly what you can handle and is there to support you.

Allah is not only aware of your struggles but is deeply compassionate. (Quran 94:6). Allah has promised that after every difficulty, ease will follow. This promise can be a powerful source of hope when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

You see, in this world, the struggles we face are part of the temporary nature of life—this Dunya is not Jannah, and it doesn’t hold the value of even a mosquito’s wing in the sight of Allah. The real value lies in Jannah, and the challenges we face here are tests meant to strengthen us and bring us closer to Him.

When you seek forgiveness from Allah, you experience a sense of peace and security that’s unmatched. Even if you’ve made mistakes, Allah’s forgiveness is vast. In Surah Az-Zumar, verse 53, Allah says, “Say, ‘O My servants who have harmed yourselves by your own selves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Allah forgives all sins. He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.’” This verse shows that no matter what you’ve been through or what you’ve done, Allah is always ready to forgive and guide you.

So, here’s a reminder: facing life’s hardships with Allah’s guidance makes all the difference. You’ll have the strength, support, and peace that comes from knowing you’re never alone. Hold onto the rope of Allah firmly, and trust that He will guide you through every difficulty with ease. Your struggles are temporary, but with Allah, you’ll find a sense of contentment and peace that will carry you through.

Choose to walk through your hardships with Allah. It’s like having a reliable friend who never lets you down. Why face it alone when you can have Allah’s support and love?

Faith isn’t just for Fridays

The other day, I was walking home with my sister after college, and it was a Friday. The Jummah Salah had just ended, and a huge crowd was pouring out of the masjid, filling the courtyard and spilling onto the streets. It’s always heartwarming to see the crowd for Jummah, but I couldn’t help but wonder—where is this energy for Fajr or Isha? Why do we save our best spiritual selves for Fridays or Ramadan? Have we become Muslims of convenience, only showing up when it feels culturally or socially necessary? This isn’t just me being critical—it’s something I’ve observed over and over, especially in our Indian households. Take Ramadan, for instance. The masjids are packed, Qurans are open, everyone’s chasing rewards. But come Eid, it’s like we slam the brakes. Eid morning starts with chaos—last-minute outfit fixes, rushing to Salah half-asleep, and then diving headfirst into food and Instagram-worthy pictures. The spirit of reflection and gratitude? Completely forgotten. An...

Are you sure this is an Islamic Festival

What Will Allah Ask You First? Let’s begin with a question that cuts straight to the heart: when you stand before Allah on the Day of Judgment, do you think He will ask you, “Did you celebrate Kunda? Did you observe Gyarvi? Did you honor Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi?” Absolutely not. The first questions will be about your Salah, your fasting, and whether you fulfilled the Fard duties He prescribed. So, why do we get caught up in these extra rituals and festivals that were never part of Islam? Are they bringing us closer to Allah, or are they pulling us further away from the pure faith that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) left for us? Imagine this: you have a glass of pure, clean water straight from a pristine spring. Would you go outside to search for dirty, muddy water to mix with it? Of course not! It would ruin the purity of the water, making it undrinkable. Islam is that pure water—complete, unaltered, and perfect. Allah says in the Quran: "This day I have perfected for you your religion and co...

Do Muslims Define Islam — Or Does Islam Define Muslims?

During a casual conversation with friends, the topic of music came up. When I said I do not listen to music because it is haram in Islam, the immediate reaction was curiosity. Then came a familiar argument: “But so many Muslims sing. There are concerts in Muslim countries. Muslim artists make music. If Muslims are doing it everywhere… how can it be wrong?” This is not just about music. This question exposes a much deeper misunderstanding in the modern Muslim mindset: Do the actions of Muslims define Islam — or does Islam define what Muslims should be? The answer matters. And it requires logic, evidence, and intellectual honesty. Foundational Principle: Muslims Can Be Wrong — Islam Cannot Islam does not derive its legitimacy from culture, majority behavior, celebrity influence, politics, or social normalization. Muslims are human beings — capable of mistakes, sin, emotional bias, and societal pressure. Revelation is not. Allah says, in a statement that intellectually destr...
